Oh, great---both houses of the NY Legislature have now OKed "automatic voter registration."  Sounds like "motor voter" not merely on steroids, but on Amazing Colossal Man radiation exposure:

The legislation, which still must be approved by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, would register people to vote when they have contact with various government agencies. The measure passed the state Assembly on Thursday and had already been approved by the state Senate. Both chambers are controlled by Democrats.

What could possibly go wrong?

Oh, I was thinking more along the lines of the police. As the police interview every suspect, they are then automatically enrolled and marked as Democrats. As folks are incarcerated, the Dems have an entire prison of loyal voters. I can't read the article, but unless the bill is very specific about who may enroll, feature creep will lead to exactly this scenario. I mean, police are really just glorified social workers, right?
