Reply to JCM in 1: Thirst. And yum. I enjoy the amber and darker brews. Job well done, JCM. A deck to be enjoyed by many. Sore unknown muscles and scraped knuckles aside.

I gave references yesterday, but one well-researched book I have been reading states that the intelligence agencies did not want Truman elected in 1948. And note the polls all showed him losing. The next time the polls were so screwed up, the deep state did not want Trump to win. We can't tell this time, but I suspect Trump will do better than 2016. The Deep State has been around for a long time, but they might just be in deep shit now.

I wanted to make it easy, a 10x20 means I could build it out of available lumber with very little cutting. However t 200 sq ft I would have to have a permit, architectural drawings inspections etc... So I trimed it down to 10x 19'11", it was also a "repair" of an existing deck... it just happened to be a full replacement, and somehow got larger.

Reply to midwestgak in 9: Gak! Remember we were talking about my tomato plant last week? You were skeptical that it would produce 4-6 inch tomatoes, and you were right. It's actually 4-6 ounces. The first one ripened last Friday and it was delicious!

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 15: King without a crown - the Talmud says audacity is a king without a crown. That is, you feel like a king, but you are not. And by feeling like a king, you have no room for the true King, Hashem (the name - used by observant Jews to avoid taking G-ds's name in vain)

Only the first one, eh. What is the expected yield? Rewrite: Hiya dopps. Glad that you enjoyed tomato. Tending to plants is a hobby and it reminds me of the family garden. (Apartment living has its downside.)

Reply to midwestgak in 20: No need to rewrite. I have about 7 more tomatoes in various stages of growth. 4-6 ounces is indeed optimistic, but that's what the label said. My maternal grandfather was a commercial greenhouse manager. When my mom was a kid they had a sort of miniature farm; by the time I came along, it was a sizeable garden minus the chickens, pigs, etc. My dad also kept a vegetable garden for years. I hated being conscripted labor, but it's a lot more fun when you're in charge of your own work.
