Another long read on hydroxychloroquine, but it shows how the reaction to the different results (something expected in early trials) got politicized

Tabletmag seems to be what the MSM claims to be - covering both sides. Articles actually cover both sides, like the one on  Soros I linked to in the daytime thread. And this article explains something I already knew, that medical studies can be flawed, not due to any design,  but due to problems in dealing with people and all the biological variables involved.

It shows how the studies are then used by the people with agendas.

Me, I  never take a medical study seriously until it has been reproduced.

And here's one that is never mentioned in the media - use of non-nutritive sweeteners is linked to getting diabetes. Turns out, eating something sweet primes your body to expect sugar, and when it doesn't come, it screws up your glucose metabolism.

The diet industry will never let the MSM publish that. (Science News is nonprofit - they do take ads, but not many. Don't fall for their ads from Stauer selling watches and jewelry - junk)

Superhydroxychloroquine can cure coronavirus
This is such great news that I've seen that it can all inspire us
Perhaps it even means that to wear masks they'll not require us
Superhydroxychloroquine can cure coronavirus!

Watched Manhattan tonight for the first time in years.  It's not as good as I remembered it, though it still has flashes of brilliance.  It really does capture a milieu, though, and doesn't paint it in very pretty pictures.  Nearly all the characters are just awful people, but that's sort of the point.

I would add that the short excerpt from the main character's ex-wife's book describing him is at once accurate, but also cruel.  It may be true, but does it need to be put in print for everyone to read? It goes back to a comment in the beginning about gossip as pornography.

I just finished watering the grass and some plants by hand (our sprinkler system isn't working right).  We're having a heatwave here in Southern California but it has cooled down to 83 outside.  In our living/dining room it is 88 so I opened some windows.  Thank goodness we have air conditioning in the bedrooms.  I think the high, outside, was 95 today but yesterday it was 105.  I don't do well in the heat.

I saw that in some places they're having rolling blackouts.  It's been nice here the last couple of days -- highs in the 80s lows in the low 70s.  Of course the humidity is obscene -- 88% right now.

They're having the rolling blackouts in parts of California and possibly even here in Los Angeles County but the folks who are complaining about not having power nearby had their power out more than the one hour that the rolling blackouts are supposed to last.  88% humidity is just awful!  Ours is 49% right now which is high for us.  It's the remnants of some tropical storm from what I gather.  Some folks had thunderstorms.

Just down the hill in Pasadena, last night, they had an officer involved shooting and the young fellow died. We don't have too many details but it may not have been a good shoot.  Early Wednesday morning a barbershop in our town was apparently firebombed.  There are some demonstrations but nothing violent so far.
