The lab is closed for Columbus Day, but my employer doesn't pay for ti.

I need the day off anyway

After getting up early today for an ADT repair visit, they never showed up, and rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

They show up then or pay for my time off from work.

Meanwhile, I have to complain to the company that takes online priperty tax payments, because they show the tax paid on time, but told the town it was late.
