Boston Globe-Democrat complains that Barrett pledges to apply the laws "as written"

So, isn't that the Judge's job? Where in the Constitution does it say they get to legislate?

While I'm pissed off, do the pictures of Uighurs being sent to re-education camps via train remind anyone of something?
Why do civilized nations deal with China?

At least Trump is trying not to deal with them

The importance of promoting green, renewable, high speed rail?

If it were up to me, the next time the Chinky Crapunist Party has a meeting, it gets nuked. Just because.

Hong Kong? Two systems, one country? They have another 20+ years, but no. F*cking sneaky Chinks

(I have sympathy for the Chinese people, who suffer under the CCP, but none for the CCP itself)

And once more, COVID is an escaped partially developed bioweapon. Even the MSM can't hide it.

An MSM article on how it came from a bat virus pointed out how COVID is 96% similar to the bat virus (about the same similarity as chimpanzees to humans), and how, by the rate of virus evolution, it split off around 1967.

So, no more similar virus has been found? And it took over 50 years to infect humans at all?

If you believe this, I have a dam over the Yangtze to sell you.

I am annoyed with my credit union and their lack of communication  with their check printers. They said they changed my mailing address to a PO box but the check printer still shows our roadside address.

And UHAUL changed their storage payment page so I have to pay each unit individually, and cannot print a receipt. Used to be I could make payments for several units and print the payment page. Not now.

And now it's time to play America's favorite game---Conspiracy Theory!

Today's theory suggests that Antonin Scalia was smothered with a pillow so that Obama could replace him with a Leftist justice before his term ended---but that his administration was not expecting the pushback it received against even considering the Garland nomination.

However, that pushback laid the groundwork for replicating the strategy this year; figuring that RBG was near expiration anyway, the Democrats figured that they could keep her seat open using the Republicans' prior arguments against their voting to confirm a new nominee: the Court would be evenly split, which would be advantageous when the mail-in fraud cases came before the Court, and the subsequent Biden administration would enable them to nominate a Justice for the vacant seat far more radical than Merrick Garland.

I still find him difficult to listen to in anything more than widely-spaced individual songs.  I've characterized him ere now as "music to slash your wrists by"---and while I do enjoy most of his music, I can't take it except in small doses.

I'm kind of with you on that but I do enjoy listening to him and I wish I had been familiar with his music when I was younger.  Kosh's Shadow introduced me to Cohen's music.

I first encountered that song by Judy Collins, and she does it beautifully

It's a hard song to listen to as a teenager with some rather morbid thoughts.

I haven't yet figured out if the reason I can listen to Leonard Cohen without slitting by wrists is because I am so solidly anchored that it doesn't bother me, or because it actually cheers me up.

It's come to this, and wasn't it a long way down...

He didn't have to "sell them" to her; anyone can record/perform anything they want to as long as they pay the statutory copyright royalty.

Based on the biography of Cohen I read, he did actively work to sell the songs to her, as he was a nobody at the time

Possible, of course.  I'm merely pointing out that Collins could have recorded the songs under a statutory royalty arrangement.

I was TRAFFICKED and gang raped by Amy Comey Barrett and her extensive network of she-devil charismatic-Catholic friends, who call themselves the “handmaids”. “Sing ‘Ave Maria’” they’d sneer at me, before straddling me under their svelte but surprisingly strong thighs,  Only when they were finished with me for the evening would they let their Garcelle Beauvais-lookalike Haitian slave girls have a go at me as well. It all happened sometime in the early 90s, or maybe the late 80s, or perhaps the late 90s. I’m not sure, but it was somewhere in North A,erica or thereabouts.  The fact that I can remember absolutely no details except the really lurid ones just proves how deep the trauma runs in me. If necessary, I will testify in a teeny, tiny little voice, to show how credible I am as a witness.  Dianne Feinstein, I await your call.
