Until sundown, today was Shemeini Atzeret, which is sort of the end of Succot.

During Succot, the book of Koheles (Ecclesiastes) is read, on the Shabbat of the intermediate days, or, if there is no Shabbat during those days, on Shemeni Atzeret.

So today the book was read.

Jukebox 1 - largely verses from Koheles

Jukebox 2, a commentary on Solomon's wisdom.

Finally! A politician is brave enough to come out in favor of the $15 million minimum wage:

You say Succot, and I say Sukkot.

Let’s call the whole thing off.

So my son’s pun for today was:

What do you call a dinosaur who asks for things nicely?

A Please-iosaurus.

That’s Klingon. I’d recognize it anywhere.

Klingons do not keep kosher. In fact, they don't even meet the Noahide rules. Gagh is best when served live.

Observant Jews are allowed to eat Naugahyde? I had no idea.

The Noahide rules are those that any righteous person is supposed to obey. They are called that because Noah obeyed them.

Back on SOB, I had made a remark about Naugahyde sofas moving to skid row so they could eat the homeless who sat on them.

It's the Jus Gentium.  Hence it was necessary that God made his covenant with Noah before the Tower of Babel and the separation of the nations.  Each nation carried that germ of the law with them.

Now, I know that is Latin! (Otherwise, one of my Latin teachers would rise from his grave and hold a gladius at my neck)

Video - note I have yet to see a comment that said "My Latin teacher was nice". I think they all are wannabe Centurions!

Ave Caesar!

Your son must be a joy to be around.  He's doing well with the puns.

I just made myself a nice little martini.  I've been stressed out all day wondering why an elderly friend was not answering either of his phones.  He never goes anywhere on the weekends and during the weekdays he only goes out for medical appointments.  I was finally able to get in touch with a mutual friend who thought he was in a hospital in Glendale, CA.  I called several hospitals but didn't think he would be in this one.  He was at clinic appointment a few days ago where he almost passed out, most likely from his blood pressure going too low.  It was such a relief for me to hear his voice a little while ago.  He is like a brother to my husband and I.

You're welcome, and I'm glad you found your friend.

And with that, good night. I have been getting up earlier with this job so I just can't stay around late

Trump is putting his skin, and blood, in the game.

When asked whether he would donate his own plasma, Trump said, “Well I will, nobody’s asked me that question, actually, but I will, if they want me to do it, I’d love to do it.”
