The parents and teachers need to join forces to make the county do its job. If a couple hundred people show up at the next school board meeting, and you get some TV coverage, you might be able to get some action.

They'll close the meeting due to the inability to maintain social distancing

Good suggestion, as long as they wear masks and practice social distancing otherwise that might be the only thing that gets covered by the biased media!

Been busy lately. But some good news. Got the financing from the government for the Squire. Right now it's sitting in a separate bank account while we explore next steps. Had an intake interview and a consultation with an organization that assists families with autistic children. Pointed us in the right directions.

Now, we have to start seeking therapy sessions and get a proper assesment on what is needed and best for the Squire. He's been doing okay considering things. The past month has been a little rough on the teachers and his Educational Assistant. Starting to get more good days than bad days at least.

So glad to hear that Phil, the therapy sessions will no doubt further improve the situation.

I've had a lot of practice, with all kinds of positive, hopeful ideas and plans and having them dashed.

I think I even knew that would be the case as a child. I remember one quote from Mary Poppins - from when I was young enough to want to see it

A man has dreams of walking with giants, to carve his niche in the edifice of time. Before the mortar of his zeal has a chance to congeal, the cup is dashed from his lips, the flame is snuffed aborning; he's brought to rack and ruin in his prime.

Or, as another song says "I find the fatal error in what's otherwise all right" (well, that skill is good for debugging software)

I won't link to the Poppins song, but I will to the latter

I think my family is cursed that way. I had an aunt who really wanted to visit Hawaii. She finally got to go - and died there.

(Very hard to ship a body back to the mainland, and she had to be embalmed, against Jewish law)

Somehow, I missed out on being on  the B-17 that crashed (probably because my wife wouldn't let me fly in it even if I had the money)

I’ll be the first to admit it’s really hard to stay positive through all these 2020 developments. I’ve found myself deleting many long, and negative, posts here lately. I may have even thrown the blog for a loop the other day by simply asking “Does anybody have any good news to share?” Other than good steaks and no President Hillary that was nearly a dead thread, very few comments that day! At any rate let’s not forget that we are all among “friends” here and the other side wins once we start going negative on each other. Nuff said.

OK; I'll try not to dash everyone's dreams. (From the same song "I had a lot of dreams once/and some of them came true/the hurt is sometimes bitter/when fortune falls on you" - I had, since I was about 15, a dream of working for the #2 computer company at the time (assuming I didn't become a particle physicist). Well I did get to work there - as the company turned into #2)

OTOH, I still think Trump will win by a landslide, and the demoncraps and MSM (but I repeat myself) won't accept it.

They'll insist it was Russian collusion, even when every case of voter fraud found will turn out to have increased the Dem vote.

One way or another, I see the outcome being determined in the SCOTUS. That’s my “gut” feel.

My wife knows several people who are voting for Trump but won't admit it in public. Polls have found that people think Trump will win even if most of those polled say they're voting for Biden. This says that more people are voting for Trump than will admit it. One article claimed that this effect doesn't exist because even Internet polls show Biden winning. Duh. The only people stupid enough to think that their identities are safe on the internet vote Dem.

Another thing is the Dem push to "defund the police". Blacks do NOT want to defund the police, by at least a 2:1 margin. They know that would let the gangs take over. Trump is going to get an unprecedented black vote.

My biggest sorrow is that too many Jews see Trump's crudeness and not strong enough putdowns of white supremacists, but completely ignore the Democrats' ENDORSEMENT of Judenhass.

I think it was Omar that had a primary challenger, a black progressive, who insisted you could be progressive and still support Israel. Pe-louse-y endorsed Omar.

I see this as nearly the one ray of hope, and it wouldn’t take much of a change in that demographic to have a big impact on the election outcome either ... there is hope here.

A casualty of the cult of mediocrity.

Life in prison might not really be so bad, come to think of it.  If nothing else I could spend my waning days reliving in my head the glory of heady murder.

We need to produce murder droids. Complete with video streaming. By the time they find the programmers and the targeters, the targets would be gone.

I prefer hypersonic weapons. They can get everyone.

The US has artillery that can fire several shells that all hit the target at the same time (as seen on some cable TV show when we had cable) so it should not be too hard to launch something that blows up all the targets at the

That is my hope.  Also, as Kosh said, many of us do not really want to tell the world that we like President Trump.  It's just not wise around here.  My vote is a microscopic red spot in a sea of blue.
