It's too early for me to drink.  I don't usually start until around 8:00.

I don’t drink at all anymore, but if I did I would be now. Very depressing day, there is no way to paint a pretty picture.

So you haven't needed to drink since Trump was elected.

I cannot do anything about the obvious fraud, so I am content to watch from the sidelines.  Does it bother me? Yes.  Are there people I know who exult in it?  Yes.  Does that, too, bother me?  Yes.

Meanwhile, life goes on.

It must, of course, go on.

I find my emotions are weaving in between the uncertainty of the desired outcome - a Trump win or the disaster of the alternative.

You are right. Either way, life goes on.

I thought the 2000 cluster f#%^ was bad, 2020 is by far worse. At least we eventually triumphed in 2000, that’s unlikely to happen this time around. It’s not over yet, but I’m not holding out much hope at this point.

AM or PM?

So, been having issues with our internet for the past while. Off again and on again issues. Nothing really that we could pin down. Thought it might be on our providers side and were working up a proper tirade to get things dealt with. Well, didn't have to. The original owner of our service died back in June/July rather suddenly (heart attack or something like that). His wife has been dealing with things in the meantime. She was over at our neighbors place trying to diagnose THEIR issues (nightmare of cables for one thing) and the wife happened to be outside and brought up OUR issues.

Turns out that the issues weren't really on their side of things technically. Cable feed to our place runs along the ground OUTSIDE our home. It's been chewed to rat shit in several places probably from a weed trimmer over the years. Which looking back at things makes perfect sense. All our issues have been with inclement weather and damp periods of time. She's going to be figuring out when to get at it and get us set up properly.

Previous guy was a real piece of work when it came to service and maintenance apparently. We were told of several rats nests of cable in various locations of the park.

Yes, Bush versus Gore where Gore rescinded his concession.

And now for a break from politics.

Starting a ship's engine and leaving port

(OK, I might be the only one here into this)

It sounds like replacing the cable feed altogether is necessary. From the way you describe the damage it’s a wonder you got service at all.

Reminds me of when ATT no-Broadband for you bought the town's system from Cablevision. It was 15 years old and they stopped doing maintenance once they started selling the system. Now this was only TV - ATT never did get broadband working. The cables were not up to it (750 MhZ) and they were so old the insulation had deteriorated to the point water always got in.

I was on the Cable TV committee at the time and almost felt sorry for the ATT guy in the hearing. Almost.

Then they sold it to Comcast, which did upgrade it.

We are fortunate; America is so rich that the disaster will not fully descend immediately.

What a day.  Car blew the alternator on I 95 in Jacksonville.  So now I'm stuck until it can be fixed.  This is what I get for trying to have a vacation before I'm sent off to reeducation camp.

Replacement was mentioned. As well as running it under our home so it doesn't get damaged again. Mostly the sheathing is what's gone in spots which lets water in to degrade the signal. Don't have a time line just yet.

Agree. IF, the result is the dreaded one, the pain felt will not be immediate. From what I understand, Trump has put into place policies, the fruit of which has not yet been fully realized, i.e. transparent medical costs (eff. 1/1/21).

The good efforts will eventually diminish, some more slowly than others.
