It's sure quiet tonight and I don't seem to know anything interesting or exiting. This staying in my home as much as I am is taking a toll on me.

Reply to @PBJ3 in 3: I guess your neighborhood hangout is closed. It's tough not being able to see your friends.

Reply to doppelganglander in 5: One is closed but another stays busy with its patios. I haven't been there because I am alone and unable to sit at the bar where I know most everyone including a bartender we have known for over 20 years. It's not fun sitting at a patio table by yourself. My fun times are every other weekend when our daughter and her significant other come here to bring whatever groceries I need and mow the front lawn. Sometimes they throw a blanket on the grass/weeds, I sit on the front steps and we all have a cocktail or beer and sometimes dinner. I am thankful to have my cat for company.

Reply to @PBJ3 in 6: I remember meeting your daughter when we went to the Huntington Library. She's terrific. I see my boyfriend every weekend, and once in a while I get dinner and/or drinks with a friend. I talk to my coworkers over Zoom, too. I'm not usually a socialite by any means, but I would like to get out more.

Reply to doppelganglander in 10: Thanks, she liked you as well. She's a good one. She does something like Zoom but it's much more secure because she's still working for the District Attorney's office. She works at home one out of every three days and is a supervisor now. She still has to go in to that filthy downtown Los Angeles courthouse where she runs into many folks not wearing a mask or crowding into the elevators which are clearly marked for only four people at a time. She worries about catching Covid and even got tested last week but she was negative.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 11: I dated a really nice young man when in college. He was shorter than I am and it didn't bother either of us. In high school I only had one date and it was a blind date too. OMG, the guy had white tape on a pair of broken glasses. My sister and the neighbor girl had to leave the room so he didn't see them laughing. I went ahead with the date but omg.

Reply to doppelganglander in 14: Thank you. The grossest thing she's ever told me is that the prisoners that are there for a hearing or whatever like to back the toilets up and there is likely asbestos there.. She's actually has a desk in the Hall of Justice which was beautifully remodeled a few years ago but she practically lives in that courthouse.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 11: And I did decently at work when social events (lunch) were common, but as I've been working for places with less social connection, I've been drifting further and further away from being able to interact.

I tried the docking simulator, and succeeded first time, but I took it REALLY SLOW Turns out, even the automated system does it slow in the left lane with blinkers on.

Turns out, even the automated system does it slow in the left lane with blinkers on. I almost tried it last night but I chickened out.
