I just took out the trash, and will be around for a while. (For last Friday, which was karaoke night, it appears, see the Frontier)

Had to run out on an errand.

Guy next to me is in his car, by himself, wearing a mask.

After reading about the new round of restrictions I have a simple question.

Back in March we were told masking, social distancing and shutdowns would control the virus, if after 6 months of it not working... why do you think it will work now?

My simple answer is there are enough people now who think government is the answer, and if doesn't work more government will.

It seems some people think loosening restrictions means it is all safe.

There is something very strange about this whole thing. I have seen someplace with access to information we won't see take this all to the extreme, from what I can see. And they are not someplace that would be trying to increase panic or use it to destroy the economy.

Even an AP wire story about the bat virus that COVID came from pointed out that it was 96% similar to COVID, and at the rate of viral mutation, that means the two split off around 1967. Yet for a virus that has some specific genes to infect people, it was never seen in people for over 50 years.

Was that 50 years of mutation done in a lab?

Now, I do NOT think this was a complete bioweapon, nor its initial release deliberate. The Chinese Communist Party would never release something that could come back and infect its leadership, and there is no evidence they have a vaccine or cure. They'd be selling it by now, touting their advanced technology.

But there is something very strange about it.

Los Angeles County is going on a 10:PM to 6:00 AM curfew, starting Friday.

And yet curfews are not that effective in preventing COVID. Some of the rules are absurd, like wearing masks outside no matter how far away other people are (Mass. Called "pandemic theater" by an epidemiologist)

They have no idea what to do but they haven't tried a curfew yet so "why not".

I was watching Spicer & Co on Newsmax tonight.  Don't remember who the woman was but she said "they've" got the people so scared of this they are willing to do anything they're told.  If you told people the virus floated high in the air and that they should keep low to the ground for safety, they would be crawling on their bloody knees from their cars to the store door.  That got a good laugh from everybody.

A FB group I belong to just had a post added that the Ralph's (Kroeger) grocery store on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, CA was already out of toilet paper at 6:30 PM tonight.  These people that hoard the toilet paper and other similar items drive me nuts! I think I only have about four rolls right now.

This is from Trump's twitter page.  Things are finally starting to happen.  The waiting is killing me but my hope is still alive.

The total number of ballots cast in Wayne County was about 863,000. Without Wayne County, Biden’s lead in Michigan would flip to a 177,000 Trump lead. So yes, certifying Wayne County is a big deal. The State of Michigan will now be tasked with attempting certification.

Hopefully they will come after Wisconsin next.  Gov Evers has already told Trump he has to pay over $7,000,000.00 (yes, seven million dollars) for a recount if he wants one here.

I think my wife would divorce me if we got that low.

Before all the TP disappeared, I had been shopping, and it was s small list, and I had just opened a 20 pack, so I got another.

Next time, there was none to be had.

I don't think we ever went below 10 rolls, and now our storage area looks like the paper goods aisles used to look.

That's how part of my basement used to look because my hubby liked to go to Costco and kept a large supply of TP and paper towels.  Costco is not close and it's not my favorite place like it was for my husband.  I'll have to cross my fingers that I find more somewhere.  People are so insane when they buy it all out like that.  If I were a store manager I'd put up a sign with a limit after I saw the first one or two people doing that.

Stores here did put up a limit. So I bought the 4 rolls they allowed. Every week for a while.

The thing is, they started the limits after the panic

Exactly.  I'll probably be going to the gas station that was selling it, roll by roll, for how much, I don't know.  Seriously, I saw that. Luckily I have gloves and a fairly full bottle of hand sanitizer that not out of date.  I think I have four or five paper masks and a cloth one.  We are also mandatory for the masks if you go outdoors and cannot stay 6'apart.
