Evening. Everyone survived me working today. I am getting frustrated with this whole lockdown theater though. Wife has a couple of projects she wants done, and I have a couple. Trouble is that we need niggly bits to do them. Stuff you can walk into the store, take a look at the different sections and walk out with exactly what you are looking for. I have currently spent over an hour on two different websites looking for just ONE type of niggly bit. Can't find it, don't know how to narrow the search down without getting everything I don't need. 15 minutes in the store that's all it would take.... Fucking politicians....

You make a fair point---indeed, we can live without a number of the laws we have now---but my point with the "AWE" acronym was to try and come up with an anti-lockdown slogan that could maybe get some currency the way "BLM" did.

Reply to PaladinPhil in 1: Well, I do have to say you Canadians make great snow shovels. Could not find steel ones for years, but found them on Amazon. At least the pusher one is made in Canada - and cheaper than the plastic crap from China. Fast work with the slush we had today.

Reply to PaladinPhil in 1: And at least here, I can go to stores. The previous snow pusher had the blade assembly held on to the handle by two wood screws, which worked their way out. Went to Home Depot and found a stainless steel machine screw, washers, nut, and got the bolt through the blade and handle, so it stays on now. The new one has a riveted blade.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 5: Not all politicians are worthless---and not all the time. Different discussion, and largely moot since they are, in some form, if not a necessary evil then at least one that cannot be entirely dispensed with. Working to change people's attitudes about this "essential work" stupidity is do-able in the more or less near term. Getting rid of politicians is not.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 7: I find it funny that sports is considered essential, but not restaurants.
