Re-post from the last thread:

Hey, folks.  Had a rather fraught discussion with my brother yesterday, just before Shabbos.  He was calling, very nicely, to check on my mental state given the personal issues I've mentioned in the Frontier---and that was great---but somehow we got onto the election, possibly because I asked him if he'd seen any troops in his DC neighborhood (he had not).

Anyway, he started talking about the "insurrection," the new Prog & Impeach initiative, etc., etc.  He claims to believe the election was all on the up and up, that there was "no evidence of fraud," and all the rest of it.  I pointed out to him that there are people arrested for vote fraud after every election, and that to believe this was the First Election With No Fraud Ever was in itself absurd on its face; that antifa had been yapping all over the Web for weeks about all the fun stuff they were planning to do as false-flag violence; that the actual allegations of fraud were resolutely ignored, and the fact that they were ignored by the mainstream news outlets dismissing them out of hand was blatant propaganda.  Also, the obvious fact that if there actually were no fraud the Left would have welcomed and invited the investigations instead of fighting them tooth and nail to prevent them.

He now thinks I'm off my nut, and my respect for his powers of analysis and his credulity threshold have...diminished.

Forgive my bluntness, but is this anything new? I have learned not to discuss politics at all was quite a number of close family members.

This has been the most divisive election in my lifetime. Not just between Democrats and Republicans, its torn many families and friends apart as well. Scorched earth politics, masterminded by the Democrats and carried out by the MSM and the social Media giants. I don’t see these relationships ever healing despite empty calls for unity from our new commander and chief. The division will only intensify as the Democrats and their allies move to diminish, silence, then completely erase their political opponents altogether. There will be no reasoning with them either, they are out for the kill.

One theory on that is that feel absolutely triumphant and that nothing can stop now. Another is that they actually feel desperate, they “won” but only with gigantic fraud and even then losing down ballot races and losing seats in the house; so they are trying to do a grand offensive now while they still feel they have the power to do so.  Ardennes Offensive type of thing.

I knew he and I disagreed about a number of things, but I was, frankly, slightly shocked at his wholesale swallowing of what are, to me, obvious lies.

I figure I'll let the exchange cool for another day or two and possibly try to mend fences if it is necessary; he's still my brother, and mostly a great guy, but he's bought into the Leftist narrative hook, line and sinker.

I hear a chatter about this $900 million lottery jackpot. The usual dreamy speculation about “what would you do if you won“. At this point, if I were to somehow come by something like that kind of money, I would very seriously consider “buying“ Swiss citizenship for myself and my son, and getting the fuck out of here. And it saddens me tremendously to write those words.

Last weekend sucked; so does this one. Sorry, too tired to talk about anything - went to bed after my last post; got up to take dogs out.

Maybe tomorrow I'll post something about this weekend in the frontier.

Other than this jukebox
