What a rough afternoon our daughter and I had.  I asked her to come by to help me get our cat in the carrier so I could take her to a clinic for a rabies shot.  I new it was going to be rough getting her into the thing but the two of us together couldn't do it, that's how strong Bella is.  We finally tried to put her in a pillowcase but that didn't work either.  Daughter finally found a fairly big box with pictures of tequila bottles, lol, and we threw the towel over the cat's face and body and put her in it.  We had to tape up the box here and there but we left an area so she could breathe.  We tried finding a dog leash or rope to tie around the box but I had to use a long scarf as the other items were not long enough.  At least she got her shot and the cat in the booze box made a few people laugh.  The vet and her assistant ended up getting Bella into the carrier for the trip home.  Bella hid for about an hour but now she is worn out and sound asleep on my bed.

OTOH, some dogs actually realize the vet is helpful!

My day involved replacing the shower head, but the attachment had changed in the years since it was originally done, so I had to go out for another part.

The last time Bella was in that carrier was when we took her to be boarded for six nights  because I was going to visit my sister in Nevada and I also knew my hubby would not be able to clean the litter box, etc.  so I don't really know why she hates the carrier so much.  It is not like she had to have a shot that time.

Our showerhead is supposed to have a lifetime guarantee but I doubt it will last that long.  We have a big problem with hard water here.  I may be facing another plumbing problem though, we have a sump pump for the washing machine that's in our basement.  A few weeks ago the pump would not stop running until I was able to jiggle some pipes and jar the pump.  Now the pump doesn't seem to want to start when the sump is full of water.  The juggling or banging on the pipe isn't working for this so far.  I thought I heard the pump an hour ago but I didn't want to go down in the basement to see whether there is water on the floor or not.  Maybe WD-40 would help that pump float but I'm not sure.  I'm a little scared to mess with it.

The old showerhead was 30-40 years old; I doubt the new plastic one will last that long even with its "lifetime" guarantee. Chinese crap. But that's what I can get.

Cats hate crates and being taken somewhere. Dogs can be better.

Our German Shepherds always enjoyed their trips to the vet -- like the car ride.

I had a cat who was ok with going to the vet.  Actually he travelled well --- I had a shoulder bag he used to sit in instead a carrier.

We had one standard poodle who loved to go to the vet. And some other dogs realized he was helping them

Showerheads?

Siroflex:

They’re not pretty, but they are VERY high-flow, work wonderfully, and are inexpensive... on that last point, despite being made in Italy, not China.

just in case you decide you’re dissatisfied with your new showerhead. I mean, these suckers cost 14 bucks, that’s it.

I have two of them, I’ve occasionally brought one on the road with me when I know I’m staying at a place that has lousy showers, I bring along my showerhead and a little Teflon tape and a wrench, and presto, I take wonderful showers during my whole stay.

And I just like the fact that they are kind of the exact opposite of what you’d expect from Italian manufactured goods; they’re cheap, ugly, low maintenance, and work flawlessly.

So far, so good. The old "spout" had a lot of dirt in the threads, but once I cleaned it and replaced the teflon tape, great.

I don't expect to be going anywhere for a while.
