The George + Dragon

Dragon.

I have not been having good dreams recently. Last night, no dragon but Godzilla, not burning Tokyo  but  burning people with full Hollywood grotesque special effects. 

Until it turned out some disturbed person was sending telepathic messages, and once she was neutralized (not necessarily killed but somehow stopped the messages), Godzilla left.

Then I could sleep. Before that, I kept waking up despite being tired from shoveling globull warming.

I wish the dream had all the "realism" of those old Japanese monster movies. I saw Rhodan in a college SF convention. On a big screen, you can see the bridge is made of an Erector set, and the plastic missile launcher is burning after the missiles are "launched"

Of course, you don't need that to appreciate the fantastic dialogue (said completely emotionless) "Help there is a monster here"

I can remember the animation in the original King Kong to be simply amazingly realistic as a kid. At the time who could have ever imagined the animations we have today. Pretty incredible how far it’s been taken, with deep fake video it’s now nearly impossible to distinguish between reality and animation.

Did you see those in a theater or on TV? A lot of those old movies looked fine on TV, but you could see how they were done when on a big screen.

Longish rant but needs to be said. My mom has been without a phone since Friday at the hospital. Figured it was a "minor" issue and union staff don't do nonessential crap on the weekends. Brother was told today that there were issues with the TV and phone lines in the room and we needed to send her a cell phone if she wanted to talk to people. Blew my top because that shouldn't be a problem. If the rooms have phone lines MAKE THEM WORK! Well a friend of my mom had a cellphone that they could lend, and sent it over. Which means it would probably get to her by tomorrow maybe.

Got that worked out, talked to the owner of said phone and got personal information so I could send money to cover costs of said cellphone. Passed number to family members, etc. .

Well, get a call afterwards from my brother. Apparently another friend talked to someone in the nursing station who subsequently went into my mom's room and PLUGGED THE FUCKING PHONE INTO THE JACK!!!!! 
Tech support staff in hospitals up here need to be drawn and quartered on general principle.

Leftists/Democrats cannot manage even recently-constructed man-made systems. They can't maintain roads or bridges or tunnels; they can't keep the "public transportation" they want to inflict on everyone running smoothly and reliably; they can't stop a closed system of municipal water pipes from becoming contaminated with toxic chemicals, and cannot fix it when it becomes contaminated; they cannot take stewardship of public lands and properly maintain them to prevent wildfires. And, of course, they can't keep public housing or public school systems from collapsing into chaos and bankruptcy.

Which no one understands. BTW, "global warming" has been going on for a lot longer than fossil fuel use.

And anyone with a few functioning brain cells knows that forcing the US to go "green" just moves production to China, where they'll build more coal plants to make crap for us.
