Kosh: regarding your last two posts in the last thread, yes, with her, it was rather like that. No-win situations, constantly.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 1: I know it's really not a joking matter, but in my case I'm the one with the issues. I am eternally grateful my husband is able to look past them. Why he loves me, I do not know, but he does. I always joke I never would have survived the pioneer days. I would have been left along side the trail west soon after departing the east on some wagon train.

Reply to JCM in 4: Passenger is in the same category as Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, and even Leonard Cohen (but not quite as depressing as the latter) And comparing a singer/songwriter to Leonard Cohen is about the highest praise I have.

As for Passenger, here is is in a "live" stream doing his first album. We're born with millions Of little lights shining in the dark And they show us the way One lights up every time we feel love in our hearts One dies when it moves away We're born with millions Of little lights shining in our hearts And they die along the way Till we're old and we're cold And we're lying in the dark 'Cause they'll all burn out one day They'll all burn out one day

All Triple 7s with the P&W 4000 engines grounded. To cautious? Looks like a couple fan blades broke, the failure was contained, the cowling and insulation came off. Maybe look at P&Ws with a similar number operational hours?

Reply to JCM in 7: The fan blades all have serial numbers, so they should concentrate on the batch those came from.

My mother's side of the family could have sued the TV show Party of 5 for stealing their lives. Their parents died at some young age, and the remaining 6 girls and 2 boys brought themselves up. My mother was the only one that got married One aunt was a public school teacher for years. Another was bookkeeper for a toy wholesaler (great for me as returned items often found themselves my way). The others worked at the now defunct Jordan Marsh department store, and that leaves me a lot of memories. So I had 6 Jewish mothers, the least of whom would be found too over the top for any streaming TV show. My mother was a travel agent for guilt trips - you could see the guilt dripping out of the answering machine from her messages. So I never learned how to properly relate to anyone. Maybe part of that was genetic; maybe not

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 8: Yup. Did they come from the same batch? During rebuilds blades are swapped out, so there may be blades from different batches on an engine.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 9: I never discussed the two men. One served in WWII, in Iceland and maybe elsewhere, and I have his war trophies. The other was a licensed electrician, but his job was really a numbers runner. I never met his wife; she died before I was born. One daughter was in a West End (Boston) theater group with Leonard Nimoy. She moved to San Francisco later. When she passed away, the funeral was on the first vacation day I had taken for myself in years. But she deserved the respect. Anyway, thanks for giving me a few little lights that haven't gone out yet

The marketing guy that came up with slogan "Good to the Last Drop" was fired. He was working for Otis Elevator at the time.

He was working for Otis Elevator at the time. And he was incarcerated at Maxwell House. Turns out the place was chock full of nuts
