Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 1: I love Counting Crows. I've seen them in concert several times.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 3: That's off their second album, Recovering the Satellites. It's very good, but August and Everything After is just flawless.

Reply to doppelganglander in 4: I don't remember where I was in a discussion about which album was better. I still prefer the first one, but A Long December is great. Another one

I've been listening to Counting Crows for years, but only in the past few days did my wife get into them. She is quite impressed by Adam's singing - he hits the notes perfectly, she says (I can't tell)

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 5: That song "A Murder of One", impresses me on several levels. It explains the name of the group. "As you stood there, counting crows. One for sorrow, one for joy; one for girls and one for boys; one for silver one for gold, one for a secret never to be told" A group of crows is a murder. And the song is about a woman so imprisoned in her relationship that she is essentially being murdered - a murder of one person. Adam Duritz is a genius.
