To the question below:  yes, wokism is the modern day equivalent of witch trials in more ways than I can explain in a few minutes.

Mark Twain explained it in the story Buzz referred to

"Oh, it's true. I know your race. It is made up of sheep. It is governed by

minorities, seldom or never by majorities. It suppresses its feelings and its beliefs

and follows the handful that makes the most noise. Sometimes the noisy handful is

right, sometimes wrong; but no matter, the crowd follows it. The vast majority of

the race, whether savage or civilized, are secretly kind-hearted and shrink from

inflicting pain, but in the presence of the aggressive and pitiless minority they don't

dare to assert themselves. Think of it! One kind-hearted creature spies upon

another, and sees to it that he loyally helps in iniquities which revolt both of them.

Speaking as an expert, I know that ninety-nine out of a hundred of your race were

strongly against the killing of witches when that foolishness was first agitated by a

handful of pious lunatics in the long ago. And I know that even to-day, after ages

of transmitted prejudice and silly teaching, only one person in twenty puts any real

heart into the harrying of a witch. And yet apparently everybody hates witches and

wants them killed. Some day a handful will rise up on the other side and make the

most noise - perhaps even a single daring man with a big voice and a determined

front will do it - and in a week all the sheep will wheel and follow him, and witch hunting will come to a sudden end.

Sorry I've been absent, but I have a Dr's excuse.  We've had a death in the family.  My husband's nephew died last night of a heart attack.  The nephew was only four months younger than my husband, more like a brother to him.  I always thought how weird it much have been, my mother-in-law and her first born daughter pregnant at the same time.  The nephew was the first born child in his family, my husband was the baby in his immediate family.

Little OR lost his first baby tooth.

The kid is making bank, since the smallest bill I have on hand is a ten.  (The going rate was a quarter in my day; even with cumulative inflation, that’s only like $1.71 today.).  Oh, and I made it clear that the “tooth fairy” = Daddy (or Mommy, as the case may be, for future teeth.)

This may sound really creepy, but I still have a few of my son's baby teeth, he's 40 years old now.  I put them in the curio cabinet with other family artifacts.  Most people put fancy glassware in these cabinets, but mine holds old family treasures and keepsakes.  Don't have any need for fancy glasses.  This is stuff most people keep stored away in boxes and nobody ever gets to appreciate it until after you die and they're cleaning your stuff out to go to Good Will. I have to admit, I have seen people give me the side eyes look when they see the baby teeth.

This particular tooth is AWOL, so no such luck here.  Neither one of us noticed when and where it actually came out.

Regarding "wokism" and witch trials, the other day (Wednesday) I posted this quote from Arthur Miller's "The Crucible":

I'll tell you whats walking Salem - Vengeance is walking Salem. We are what we always were in Salem, but now the little crazy children are jangling the keys of the kingdom, and common vengeance writes the law!

I know, and I checked. Apparently it is almost always harmless to do so.

My baby swallowed a penny.  I panicked and frantically called my mother.  She told me not to worry, when I was little I swallowed a nickel and it came through.  Should have really impressed her and made change!

The other thing my son and I did today was walk together for a total of almost 6 miles, including a scavenger hunt, which was a lot of fun. It was also the longest I’ve walked in one continuous session, or in one day, since I tore my quadricep tendon back in October. Good exercise but now I’ve got an ice pack on my knee...
