Took today off, as I have some vacation to take before I lose it.
So we took my wife's car for a recall (driveshaft replacement - the old ones were not properly treated). Also got mine inspected, technically a month late, but the company the state uses to run the inspection system was hacked in late March, and was out of operation until late April, so they extended the deadline.
The car has not been driven much recently, and sat a bit in bad weather.
One front brake caliper was frozen; pads and rotors needed replacing. Not cheap.
Ran some other errands while they worked on the car.
Today in the high 80's. Came home and the living room air conditioner turned on, then stopped doing anything. (This cools most of the first floor - it is a large 15000 BTU unit, but it is over 20 years old). Did turn back on, but looks like I'll have to get a replacement, and ones that size need two people to install, so we'll have to pay for installation.
So now, I can enjoy the rest of my day off. Opened the pub early.

Test ran ours today too. Supposed to be 87 tomorrow with high humidity and dew point. Didn't want to find out something was broken then. Ours too is older, close to 20 years, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it keeps on cooling.

I am so damned tired of Lardassian "conservatives."
I've been over on PJM, and people are pissing and moaning about this and that---but tell them to hoist their lard-asses out of the Barcalounger and run for school board to fight against CRT, and it's all "How dare you tell me what to do! I volunteer at the children's hospital!" As if that made a difference.
I have said before, and I will say again, that "conservatives" are dedicated to losing---and I ain't just talkin' 'bout "RINOs." I would desert "conservatives" in a half-minute---max---were it not that the principles were correct; as political people, they are total loser assholes. The Left is much better, but they are WRONG.

Ah the fable we need to write about the planet Lardassia, where everyone starved to death because there were two types of Lardassians:
The ones who actually worked and didn't have time for politics, and those who couldn't lift their lard asses to work, so they went into politics, and insisted the people who actually work hand over their work to those who did nothing, so they stopped working, too, and everyone just made LardTube and AssTok videos until they starved to death.

Boy comes to me, "Ask Siri what she dreams of!" he tells me.
I respond instantly, "Electric Sheep"
His jaw drops, "HOW DID YOU KNOW!"
It's the small things.........

Back in the 1990's, Douglas Adams helped develop a computer game, "Starship Titanic". The ship has a Massive Spontaneous Existence Failure seconds after launch, and ends up on Earth long enough for the player to get on board and has to figure out what is wrong with the ship.
Terry Jones of Monty Python wrote the novel (and played the parrot in the game)
Somehow, Kindle thought I would like the novel, and it has been good so far. Turns out, the game, once around $50 on 3 CDs is $5.99 on Steam and Gog. Seriously thinking about getting it, even though a lot of the reviews say some puzzles need the materials that came with the game to solve without looking them up. Also needs the blue/red 3d glasses (I think I still have a cardboard pair)
Kind of like starship liner done by The Producers, and I hope that doesn't give too much away.
(Super Galaxy Class? Sorry, the ship only produces enough air and heat for First and Second Class passengers. Oh, you have vouchers to 2nd class, but they only get processed at the end of the month.)

Doesn't look like anyone there will be running down the streets of Syracuse naked yelling "Eureka!"
