Jukebox I packed my bags last night,
pre-flight
Zero hour 9 AM
And I wish I could be high as a kite by then
I hate the Earth so much; I hate my life
It’s lonely in my place
On such a timeless night And I think it’s gonna be a long long
time
‘Till something brings me round again to fine
I’m not the man they think I am at home
I say Fuck it, Man!
Fuck it, Man
Burnt out my fuse long ago
And I think it’s gonna be a long long time
I’m not the man I think I am at home
Oh, no, no, no
Fuck it, Man
Burnt up my fuse up here alone Earth ain’t the kind of place to
have a life
In fact, it sucks like Hell
And there’s no one here to treat you right
And all this science, I don’t understand
They change it five days a week
Fuck it, Man
Fuck it, Man And I think it’s gonna be a long long
time
‘Till something brings me round again to fine
I’m not the man they think I am at home
I say Fuck it, Man!
Fuck it, Man
Burnt out my fuse long ago
And I think it’s gonna be a long long time
I’m not the man I think I am at home
Oh, no, no, no
Fuck it, Man
Burnt up my fuse up here alone

I'm kind of late getting here again. I had to take batteries to my husband and he has lost them already! He called me twice while I was driving back home to see if I had accidentally put them back in my purse. I pulled everything out and even tossed a handful of receipts out that we didn't need. I hope he finds them. On the way home I picked up some angel hair pasta with chicken, garlic, parmesan and olive oil. There are whole tomatos and some pesto too put I am not supossed to eat them. It's still a good dish.

It occurs to me that one of the reasons the Left hates Israel is that Israel is an apostate from the Communist faith. Supporters of communism/socialism are fond of saying "Well, it's never really been tried." That is, of course, a lie. Many of the early kibbutzim were run along supremely-communist lines---not only no private property, and everything for the commune, but children were even taken from their parents and raised "communally." These early kibbutzniks found that---surprise!---this super-communal social organization did not work; the communal raising of children was one of the first things to go, and the various bans on private property followed. Most of the Israeli towns that started as highly-communal kibbutzim are still around---but they are towns now, not communist experiments in communal living. Many still have the agricultural production with which the kibbutzim started, but many also engage in various forms of for-profit, privately-owned light manufacturing. It is highly unlikely that many of the current crop of Leftist Israel-haters know this, of course. They are merely the recipients of the anti-Israel doctrines that have been poured in to the empty vessels of their skulls. But the Soviet Union---solidly-communist at the time of the UN partition vote---did support the creation of Israel at the vote, and recognized Israel shortly after it declared independence. Yet it was the Soviet Union's KGB which assisted in the formation of the PLO in 1964---three years prior to the Six-Day War. One can only presume that the ongoing Israeli abandonment of communism was one of the factors in this change in attitude.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 4: Interesting. I didn't realize they had the communal kibbutzims at one time. Sadly, I don't think our schools taught us enough about what was going on in that that part of the world.

Appartently some crazed individual drove from Banning, CA to Beverly Grove, CA just so he could assault some diners who were dining outside on the sidewalks. Palestinian supporters attacked jews earlier in the week and it was quite violent.

Reply to @PBJ3 in 6: Communism, of course, had a big run in America during the Great Awakening period in the early 19th century. I forget the name of the commune that Bronson Alcott dragged his family to---this was well before Louisa May Alcott became a writer---but there were plenty of others. The Shaker settlements were religious communes, as was the Oneida colony and the Amana colony. Oneida long, long ago ceased to be a communist cell, but it survives as a town and as a producer of flatware (I believe that Oneida flatware is still produced). The Amana washing machines were a big deal in the late 19th/early 20th centuries (I'm not sure they are still around) but they came out of the Amana communal experiment. It was during this period (1830s/40s) that Mordechai Noah, a former US army officer who also, I believe, was briefly involved in the diplomatic service, tried to start a colony called "Ararat---a city of refuge for the Jews" on Grand Island near Buffalo. The name alludes to the "cities of refuge" which were mandated in the Bible for people to flee to if they were guilty of manslaughter, so that they would be safe from the retaliation of the deceased's family. The Ararat experiment did not get very far.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 9: I believe Oneida is still manufactured here. I knew we had a lot of communists here but your knowledge is fascinating.
