Repeated for fun Eight warning signs you might be sharing office space with terrorists 1. You notice suicide vests hanging on the coat rack. - This could be a hint.
2. The tenants upstairs are constantly disrupting things with their loud footsteps and their rocket launches off the roof. - Upstairs tenants are the worst! 5. They only play CNN in the lobby. - The surest sign something is up.

Earlier this evening, I had my son listen to “ice, ice, baby“ by vanilla ice, because it is mentioned in a video he likes.
Don’t judge.

Der NY Shturmer has decended into babbling idiocy (OK not so far) For example, a top-of-the-front page headline on Friday reported, “More than 250 Dead, Mostly Civilians.” An article by Ronen Bergman in Sunday’s New York Times reported that Israel “claims to have killed about 200 Hamas operatives.” The math is hard to reconcile, unless the Times is double-counting as “civilians” the people Israel is describing as “Hamas operatives.”

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 8: If wasn't a waste of time I'd be tempted to listen to see what kind of drivel is in there. But I'd rather have a Q&A.... How is a proven scientific fact, colonial or racist? Is grass racist because there is no black chlorophyll? Is a chemical say testosterone misogynistic?

TL;DR: Ashley sucks at biology so she makes everything about race. No matter how bad her dissertation or research are, the department will be afraid of being called racists so she'll get her PhD. She will go on to a lucrative career as a race-baiting grifter and never set foot in a lab again.

Reply to doppelganglander in 16: I just logged off my work system. 3/4 of the day in meetings, not BS type, but making decisions, but wanted to get my day to day done. Day to day snowballs if you don't keep on top of it. I'll do the late days in exchange for a very flexible schedule.

I had a day like that, but I pretty much gave up at 6. We're reaching crunch time on a huge project and my supervisor can't seem to answer my questions in a timely manner. So of course I'm the problem for not asking for help, even though I did. I went and puttered in my garden for an hour, picked up some groceries, and came home and had a beer. It will all be there in the morning.

Reply to doppelganglander in 18: My boss is responsive. Since my job cross over to a lot of other teams, sometimes it the cross team stuff takes a little while. But I try to be responsive to their requests and it pays off their cooperative with what I need. I started this 16 months ago.... doesn't seem that long. We had less than 30 people in the EE team. We're now over 300. The entire project is over 600 and looking to have over 1000 by the end of the year.

As a contractor, I need permission to put in more than 8 hr/day (averaged over the days I work; I can make up time some days if I need to do something else other days), and I get overtime if I do put in more. I've had some times where they allowed overtime, but normally, even if I am going really well, I have to stop and pick it up the next day.
