This video shows what to do BTW, they were upset the printer kept saying "PC Load Letter" - which means it was out of (letter size) paper. Any 1/4 competent techie could figure that out.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 3: And when I worked for a company with looming layoffs, they showed Office Space in a conference room (a very fancy one, I might add) Laid half my group off, including me and the only other person who understood the process to build our product. Boss tried to get me back as a contractor a short time later because they hadn't been able to build the product for weeks. Company refused. CEO later was arrested somewhere in Africa and extradited to the US for some kind of fraud. Most of this was close to 20 years ago; CEO arrest was later.

And another interview, they asked of the CEO of another company was able to enter the US without being arrested. The company that interviewed me did give me a job, but laid me off later and has since gone out of business. I won't list the companies that hired me and are now gone, except for one - DEC

Facebook Why would they interview someone who doesn't use facebook? I think they wanted to interview some American , say he couldn't do the work, and bring in someone cheap from India. Well, I actually had done much of the work they talked about - video delivery, content delivery network., network acceleration, and other stuff. My reform for H1B visas is that they have to inform any American why they were not hired, and show that the American did not have the skills - and that they really did interview people with the skills. Penalty is that people in that field get extra unemployment, paid for by companies who bring in H1B people. Of course, big tech is really running the country, so that's not going to happen. Maybe under Trump, but not now

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 6: I have a hard time with just the idea that there are not people in the US with the skill set. My current position, I didn't have experience on the particular tool set, but everything else. However it is US Persons only being a ITAR, EAR restricted project.

My current position, I didn't have experience on the particular tool set, but everything else. However it is US Persons only being a ITAR, EAR restricted project. There was an article a while ago on Fox where a reporter told some tech executive that his wife could do the work they claimed they couldn't find people for. He admitted it was because they'd have to pay her more. So the job I have requires citizenship, security clearance. I have seen no classified information, but all the code I look at is ITAR. Thank you, Uncle Sam BTW, I seem to have a lot of interviews they don't expect me to pass - like one for a Python position. Aced the coding test, but they complained my comments were not formatted well. The coding test for the group I work for is a ball buster. It took me a week, and still my version took 7* as long as theirs to run. Submitted Friday, phone screen Monday, interview Tuesday. Only 1/3 of the people they give it to actually get it to work at all.

Reply to JCM in 1: The “wish fulfillment“ mentality that is going on among the left about the Taliban right now is absolutely gob smacking.
