I just found out that my undergraduate mentor, the man to whom I owe a debt so great that I cannot even say, passed away. I am destitute. I had not spoken to him in several years out of shame. Now I'll never have the chance again.

I ordered a new computer because my good one was in the shop (Del) with some unknown time for repair, and the system I wanted had a 45% discount.

The new one shipped - but I have not been charged for it, They did a preliminary charge, but it expired.

Personally, I'd be quite happy if they kept the broken one in return for the new one.

Meanwhile, I have to make sure the debit card has the price for the system.

(I use a debit card tied to a specific subaccount, where I control how much money is there, so if someone wants to charge too much, it won't affect payments from my primary account)
