BTW---my local NPR is trying to fundraise for itself, under the rubric of "independent journalism." These are people who partner with the NYT, who are supported by Google and Facebook, who get money from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and from several other foundations as well. And they expect people to support them as "non-partisan, independent journalism?" What boobs these contributors be.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 2: The Boston classical station, WCRB, is owned by WGBH, which has their own NPR station (WGBH), so WCRB emphasizes its lack of news, as a place to get away to relaxing music. I did send them some money, sometimes. They have one annoying public news show at 2 AM on Sunday mornings probably because of FCC rules. I think the only reason WCRB still exists as a classical station is because the first owner of the broadcast license somehow made it a condition of future sale that it remain a classical station. No commercial entity wanted it, so WGBH got it, probably cheap. The parent station produces NOVA. There were protests a while ago because they were taking money from IIRC the Koch brothers. They pointed out that the Kochs had no editorial control; invited the protest leaders in, and then the protest ended. I guess they told them they'd stop taking money from the Kochs if the protesters could replace it.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 3: I don't listen to NPR. My blood pressure would not tolerate it.

In #2 buzzsawmonkey said: And they expect people to support them as "non-partisan, independent journalism?" What boobs these contributors be. The contributors consider anything that supports their preconceptions as non-partisan, and anything that pushes them out of their "Woke" comfort zone - to really wake them up to reality - as being misinformation. No matter that the "news" they hear has only a passing resemblance to reality.

I edit a pro-Israel newsletter and just noticed Microsoft Word "editor" includes "inclusivity"
