I think that's where the "girls" are!  At least they are in all those old westerns.

That's okay.  They're not sure who/what they are either.

President Biden on riding Amtrak: "I commuted every single day for 36 years as VP ..."

I thought he was VP for only 8 years.  It did feel like 36 years though.

I was born in Northern California but raised south of Reno, Nevada in a small town near a Naval Ammunition dump.  When I was in my early twenties, I had tested and was waiting for a position at the Naval base.  At the time, however, I was working in a casino.  My boyfriend (my husband of over 50 years had gone home to southern California to bury his father who passed away at 43 years old.  Hubby was a Marine, stationed at that ammo dump. Well, his car broke down near a place where some "girls" lived and worked, LOL.  He called the casino to ask if I could come and pick him up.  My employer let both myself and one of the bartenders head out to the place.  Before I got off of the phone my hubby handed it to the cheif "girl" to give me directions and she threw on all of the red lights and said "Honey, it's the place with all the red lights" and turned them on right away.  We still laugh about that.  The bartender friend went inside to get him but I was too shy.  I'd probably go in now, just to see what it was like.

I have a couple more memories when I was even younger and working for my parents who had a franchise selling Buicks Cadillacs and Pontiacs.  They had some interesting customers. LOL  I'll tell them on another night.
