I don't remember which of the black thug shot by white cop or white Hispanic case it was, where my NPR-listening colleagues were bemoaning the acquittal, where I said if you read the Boston Globe and Fox, you would think there were two completely different cases, and the only people who saw all the evidence was the jury, and they voted to acquit.

That shut them all up.

I read a while ago that as much as the British would set different groups against each other in their colonies, they left behind a system of laws that serve the former colonies well. Places like India, for example, still use laws and government based on the British model.

The French did not do such a good job.

On another note, the Japanese navy copied what was during their formation the best navy - the RN - and even in WWII, orders were given in English the way the British did. I'm talking about orders like left helm, etc., not strategic or tactical orders.

It is written that in the Russo-Japanese war, a British attaché gained great face with the Japanese by staying on deck during a battle.

It's very clear here.  The full moon is beautiful right now.  Hope I get to see it or at least part of it.
