Re San Francisco banning doing business with so many states. Too bad the patents for the cable car mechanisms are long in the public domain, or it would be great to set up a company in a triply-prohibited state that was the only possible source of supplies to keep them running.

As the song goes, I left my heart in San Francisco, but apparently no one left any brains.

Your internal clock is still on standard (correct) time, while we're on daylight scamming time.

"We want to move the workday to 8-4 so you can have more daylight"

"But that means I have to get up at 5 and that is too early"

"OK/ We'll CALL it 9-5 and you can get up at what we call 6"

But astronomically, work is 8-4 and wake up time is 5. We only pretend otherwise.
