Reply to @PBJ3 in 3: Took a lot to fix the problems after I updated. Forgot to say, now, if you get logged out when you are on a public thread, instead of the File Not Found error, you will see the posts with a note at the bottom that you must be logged in to comment.

And we'll get an SSL certificate (ordered, but it takes some time) so we can use https: and we won't see that "not secure" note in the address bar any more.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 14: Been a very long December. Friday through today I had some problems to deal with - important things that take a lot of work and are stressful. Still not done, but slowing down. I just had a vacation and I need one.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 20: Stress is awful. I've had a lot of it myself, of late. I hope it doesn't completely wear either of us out. I went into a panic a few minutes ago. The cat walked on my laptop and the picture turned sideways. I googled the problem with my phone and was told to press cntl, alt and the arrows. That didn't seem to work at first but I must have been too impatient because it finally worked, LOL.

'Nice that we've got "Nights in White Satin" on now. I liked the Moody Blues a lot but they did a better job in a recording studio. We went to see them live once and they didn't seem as good. It didn't help that they did not play any of their hits.

Fireworks are sort of legal here on the far side of the Sound. Some of my neighbors are a little impatient. No worries though. Everything is soaked from all of the rain They have stopped for now. it will get noisy again in a few hours.

Reply to @PBJ3 in 26: I was banned, as was Buzz. I went to C2 on blogspot under a different name - never got caught. No high-tech "correlation tool". Once I used this name there, I was banned in hours. He had his myrmidons searching for people to ban.

Reply to Syrah in 29: Aloha! The song that Kosh played made me think of you. I believe it's on your blog. We have fireworks going off as well and even though we've had a lot of rain in the past few weeks it has dried out and we had a Santa Ana howling wind last night. Our yard is so full of small branches, pine needles, etc. It's a shame because our daughter came over this past Saturday, mowed and cleaned the yard nicely.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 31: I was banned because someone at one of the stalker blogs used doppelganger. I appealed and was reinstated. I guess I was banned when I came here but I never bothered to check. Damn, I've known some of you for a long time - I joined the swamp in 2002.

Reply to @PBJ3 in 41: Oh, lord, the hurricane! Was that Rita or Katrina? If that happened today, the donations would be handled through GoFundMe, I guess, and it wouldn't have been so contentious. I threw in $20 and I honestly didn't care if it went astray. I hate being petty about small sums of money.

By the long road
They were riding in a troika with bells, and in the distance there were glimmering lights. I'd rather go now with you, my dears, I'd rather distract my soul from the yearning.
[Chorus] Along a long road, and on a moonlit night, And with that song that flies away with jingle-jangle, And with that ancient, seven-stringed one (guitar) That tortured me so much at nights...
Living this way, without joy, without torture, I do remember the past years and your silvery hands in a troika that flew away forever....
But it turns out our song was futile, In vain we burned night in and night out. If we have finished with the old, Then those nights have also left us!
The days run on, multiplying the sorrows, it is so hard for me to forget the past. Some day, my dear, you shall take me to bury (dead hero to the cemetery)
Out into our native land, and by new paths, We have been fated to go now! …You rode on a troika with sleigh bells, [But] you’ve long since passed by!
* a troika is a type of sleigh.

Reply to @PBJ3 in 43: I remember it. Swampwoman was one of the founders, IIRC, and collected for the relief fund. Even if someone misappropriated the funds, it couldn't have been that much. But maybe others gave a lot more and were upset about the lack of accountability.
