I'd love to see the Senate vote to dismiss the whole impeachment wad on the grounds which courts do: "Failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted."

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 2: I like it. Finished watching Tannbach this evening. It really shows just how awful the DDR was while at the same time showing how it is that some people were stupid enough to buy into it even when the evil was not just staring them in the face but fucking up their lives and those of the people they love. Honestly, I'm sort of surprised the series could be made -- I don't know that I've seen anything that so accurately describes the emergence of the DDR. It matches precisely what my great-grandfather said based on his correspondence with his sister, who eventually broke ties with our side of the family because he was too critical of the Communists and it was getting their family in trouble. When we went back in 1990 no one on that side even knew we existed -- they couldn't talk about having family in the West. But the Stasi knew about us, which is one reason I think they tried on two occasions to recruit me. Now that's scary.
