In #1 Syrah said: The suspects in the Seattle shooting would have been in the gray bar hotel and unable to shoot anyone if the 3Strikes Rule was operative. And yet news articles quote politicians saying the guns shouldn't have been on the street. No, the THUGS shouldn't have been on the street.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 2: Democrats want to take guns away from law-abiding citizens so they can't defend themselves. They also want to let violent thugs roam the streets unchecked. They hope the terrified, disarmed populace will permit, or demand, the suspension of their constitutional rights. They expect to ascend to their rightful place holding all wealth and power. Those who refuse to submit will be unpersoned - unable to work, separated from their families, but given all the weed and opiates they want to keep them docile. Let's see how that works out for them. Virginia is a preview.

Note that making guns, drugs, and booze illegal did not do much to prevent them being available

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 5: Hey, look at all the benefits for yoots that deal drugs. They learn the metric system and how to make change. They develop management skills by hiring runners and small-time dealers. Ever see The Wire? Stringer Bell is going to college for a business degree to better manage his drug empire. Drugs provide a world of opportunity!
