So the Dumb presidential debate is tonight.

I would vote in the Dem primary (unaffiliated, so I can pick the party), but there is no one left I can vote for. Trump, of course, in the actual election, but the saner Dem candidates have dropped out mostly.

I second dopps’s recommendation of “The Wire”.  It’s superb, even if its creator is a raving moonbat (IIRC).

At bedtime, Little OR and I read “make way for ducklings“ and then the end of “the magic school bus in the time of the dinosaurs“. Afterwards, he decided that he is a ducklingsaurus.

For some reason, I thought of a show we watched years ago and its theme song

David Simon is very talented - "Homicide: Life on the Street" is one of my favorite shows of all time. It was based on his book, "Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets," which I recommend highly. The moonbattery goes without saying, but in his case, I'm able to enjoy the work without caring too much about his political opinions.

The ducklingsaurus moved much more quackly than the other dinosaurs.

That’s a commonly-mistaken belief... a canard...

I recall it being very good, and also disappointingly short-lived.

After watching "Dr. Strangelove" on TCM, I decided to put on the debate. First impression: Bloomberg should have agreed to stand on the box. He's shorter than Warren. She's going after him about the non-disclosure agreements he had with women who worked for him. At this point, I hate her more than him, and that's a high bar - higher than either of them.

Seven seasons and 122 episodes, according to IMDB. Still too short - Andre Braugher in particular was brilliant.

Now one of the moderators, who has a Spanish accent, and Buttigieg are going after Klobuchar on not knowing the name of the president of Mexico, and she's getting very defensive. She's a massive bitch and a total moron.

I've never liked Terry Sothern.  He's a nasty, sniggering hipster-type---a prototype of today's snotty Antifa snotflakes.  That goes for his writing for "Dr. Strangelove," for "Candy," for "The Magic Christian," and his miserable-abortion screenplay for Evelyn Waugh's "The Loved One."

I find that on repeated viewings, the people we are supposed to most despise in "Strangelove"---particularly Slim Pickens' "Major Kong"---hold up better than the more supposedly-sympathetic characters.  Kong is doing what he was trained and ordered to do; doing it to the best of his ability; trying to reassure/hearten his men; and sacrifices himself at the end to achieve what he was told was necessary.  That's a hell of a lot more admirable than the supposedly-sympathetic buffoons.

Really?! Huh.  I don’t know why I had the impression that it only lasted a few seasons; maybe because I was living in Peru during a couple of those years so kind of lost track of it then. I may have to see if I can find it streaming somewhere and check it out again.

It's comedy gold. Warren just aid she would ban all mining and drilling, then make exceptions for minerals we need to produce green energy via technologies that haven't been invented yet. WTF?

And now the Democrats really miss Obama, who could even tell you the name of the president of Canada.

IIRC, some of the seasons were short and aired irregularly. It's available on DVD from Amazon. AFAIK, it's not available on any streaming service.

Bernie raising his hands---and flailing them about---is merely habit.

Christ, any one of us could debate these clowns under the table. They either don't understand or are lying about the Community Reinvestment Act, redlining, subprime mortgage lending, and the 2008 financial crisis.

Seriously. Sanders, a Senator, is claiming Bloomberg and GWB wrote the tax code. Grampa Simpson shouting at clouds. And Klubchar blaming Trump for lack of child care for small business owners. She's making no sense whatsoever.
