Watched the second Jurassic World movie tonight. It's better than I'd expected. It also raised an interesting point -- the possibility of connection between humans (mammals) and dinosaurs (birds, essentially). Playing with my cat -- a fearsome predator transformed through about 8,000 years of selective breeding into something I can connect to -- versus with a creature with whom I have no common ancestor less than 300 million years old ... this is a much more complex issue. I have had dealings with many different mammals in my times -- horses, sheep, goats, cattle, rodents, various carnivores -- and my connections with those are intuitive. But how do I ever develop an intuitive relationship with a creature so far removed?

Howdy. Got my second shipment of iN95 masks in tonight, so that’s good. Made up a little care package for my son’s mom of coronavirus shelter-in-place stuff, because I know she won’t do it; i’ll deliver it to her on Sunday when I pick up my son.

I figure I’m about us prepared at this point as I can be, short of bugging out for the countryside.
