Relationship stuff. She's busy looking at plants while I am looking at gun stuff. We're both happy with this. :p

So, the ad on the subway today for the "IDNYC"---New York City ID---had a person of "indeterminate gender" happily proclaiming that on their ID their "gender marker" could be whatever they wanted it to be, and it would be all personal and confidential.
Doesn't that kind of go directly against the very concept of ID?

No wonder the Feds are not accepting anyone from NY for the trusted traveler program
(Now, they'll all be invited into Bernie's Fellow Traveler program)

I would amend that to durable food, ammunition and a serious first aid/ trauma/ medicine kit.
Light clothing for the more torrid climate might be good, and some spare parts kits for any weapons or other tools that can break or have small parts lost. Several tools and chemicals to purify water are also good.

Nonsense! A. Music is the universal language. B. Lucius knows both classical music AND German- just ask him what you want to know!

Revo---thanks.
I'm frankly too exhausted at the moment to absorb it---I just came off of a two-hour teaching stint---but will review tomorrow when I'm a little more fresh, and comment then.

Actually, the Firesign version was:
Back from the shadows again
Out where an Injun's your friend
Where the vegetables are green
And you can pee right into the stream (and that's important!)
I'm back from the shadows again...

Well, sure, but my response was intended to be whimsical. (Check out the question on the last thread.)
and it harks back to a cartoon I saw in the New Yorker years ago, showing two Wall Street traders on a trading floor with nervous looks on their faces, one saying to the other: “things must be bad, the only buy orders coming in are for canned food and ammunition.“

A lot of stuff has been going on, and the only way I'd be able to discuss it, even in the frontier, is if I was too drunk to type.

Damn, a lively conversation going on, and me too tired to remain. Teaching takes it out of you when you get old.
