Re: the discussion downstairs about the Wuhan virology lab

I've said all along that COVID-19 is a bioweapon released accidentally. I say accidentally because I don't think even the Chinese would deliberately target their own population. Now it occurs to me that the Coronavirus has succeeded beyond their wildest dreams - it doesn't sicken and kill as many people as they might have hoped, but it's come close to destroying the economy of the Western world. We need to put people back to work and make it a priority to bring manufacturing back to the US, or at least move it to friendlier countries.

I don't think it was a complete bioweapon, but genes being developed that got mixed with a wild virus.

But there are indications it might have been a bioweapon in progress.

How about this idea for a children’s story?

It is a story about a rooster, Frank, who identifies as a hen, Francine, even though zhe can’t lay eggs.

All the barnyard animals support zher, and convince zher it is just fine to be a hen that doesn’t lay eggs.

The farmer Grump [guess who he looks like?], however, isn’t so happy.

But the animals smuggle zher into the henhouse anywhere, where zhe is very happy.

Until the farmer Grump decided hens that don’t lay eggs are not worth keeping around, so he calls the shochet, [kosher slaughterer], who shows up with large hooked nose and an Israeli flag, and proceeds to do his business on the non-laying hens. Francine is wearing a Palestinian Keffiyeh, and we see other animals with bomb belts trying to break through the wall to save zher.

However, the animals overthrow Grump, convince everyone to be vegetarian, and live happily ever after*.

*For the real ending, see Orwell, Animal Farm.

I think it will go over well with the woke set. But a better use would be to shred it completely, lest anyone see it and get ideas.

Hi ya dopps.  My question is, why not?

They have (If I may suggest) 'targeted' (murdered) some of their own descending population. A few casual virus deaths. Pfff. Many more left to overcome the world.

Back  in the 1970's when Russia and China were having border skirmishes, there was a joke

War breaks out between Russia and China.

The first day, the Russians capture one million Chinese. The second day, two million; three million on the third.

On the fourth, the Chinese call the Russians "Do you give up yet?"

Nah. If it were deliberate, they would have infected the Uighurs.

Animal Farm was required reading in my 7th grade level civics class and we were tested on the material. That was in 1971. No longer the case.

So, in that small way, it is being shredded bit by bit. (As an example)

The USSR came very, very close to nuking the PRC in 1974.  Nixon told them “no”.

I've tried it and no.

The only thing I've ever like it in is softened in water and scrambled with eggs.

I've seen some interesting artlcles, I'd have go dig them out on the RNA sequences in the Covid-19. It has some HIV sequences, some other human DNA sequences and the markers used by geneticists to move RNA sequences around.

Best guess is that lab in Wuhan not far from the wet market got an animal that been a test subject in the lab and sold it as meat. Whether a lab employee sold it or a wet market employee went dumpster diving who know.

But that seems to be a likely scenario. Not a grand conspiracy, other than a conspiracy of idiots.

Or someone got infected by both the research virus and a bat virus, and the result was a combination of genes.

And a conspiracy to cover up. Letting the information out would have saved thousands of lives.

Small change to Chinese communists.
