So the Boston Globe thinks publishing a novella over two weeks will entertain people and keep them reading.

Not when it reads like this:

She gripped the cushioned edge of the blackjack table with both hands as she tossed a purposefully nonchalant glance at the cards spread out across the green felt. Christ, it was hard to keep her emotions in check, push down the excitement coursing through her veins. She wanted to leap up from her chair, bear hug the nice old man sitting two seats down from her, lift him up in the air and swing him right out of his orthopedic clogs. Instead, Hailey painted her face with a bored look, then waved a manicured hand over the table, letting the dealer know she didn’t want any more cards.

BLEH!

Looks like they’re angling for a literary prize.  Well... one in particular:

My thoughts exactly. I do wonder, was she gambling on a dark and stormy night?

His armor was black, and he was prone to violent outbursts.

He was a dark and stormy knight.

Where's King Arthur? The Black Knight killed the thread.

It's a lot harder to write pulp than people realize.

It was a close and muggy day.

There had been three muggings in the lobby since dawn

It can also be a lot harder to read than the authors realize.

And I say that as an author who managed to get I think 2 people to read my novel. And at least one more who tried (and as a literary agent, I think he had worse ones than mine submitted)

That paragraph was just awful.  Word salad from a salad bar that should be condemned by the Board of Literary Health.

Gives you an idea about what Boston's liberal fake news paper is like.

The Globe has fallen a long way - although it is better than when the NY Times [Motto- all the propaganda that is fit to print] owned it.

The Times no longer owns the Globe?  When did that happen?

Maybe 10 years ago when the owner of the Red Sox bought it.

The Times lost a lot of money on the deal.
