King Edward VIII, who abdicated to go off with an American actress, was working to make a deal with the Nazis against the Communists - during the war. The Royal Family hid this, and in the process, Kim Philby and other Communist sympathizers remained at their positions, betraying the west (they knew that Edward was a traitor, and this was the way to hide it)

And Allan Dulles and his ilk, who helped protect Nazi assets and get them out of Germany, had big roles in the US spy agencies.
