In England, November 5th is Guy Fawkes day, when fireworks are set off and Guy Fawkes, who tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament, is burnt in effigy. The verse said on, and leading up to, that day is:

The Gunpowder Treason and plot;
I see no reason why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

In the US, this year, November 5th is Election Day, where it is already obvious that the Democrats will try to skew the vote and pad the count to ensure that the Republican nominee for president does not obtain a clear victory. The verse to be said on that day, and the days that follow, is:

Please to remember
The Fifth of November
When vote fraud tried to prove what was not.
I see no reason why Democrats' treason
Should ever be forgot.

Truer words have rarely been spoken--alas.

Kamala has been trying to get on to Joe Rogan's show, but she's making a strange demand--asking him to come to her, rather than having her come to his studio. Ed Morrissey writes:

Both Donald Trump and J.D. Vance have been able to close the deal with Rogan, even while campaigning in the same election. They are both willing to come to Rogan to get what they want -- access to his audience and the younger voter demo that they also desire in the final days. On top of that, Rogan has made it clear he's willing to deal, but Harris can't close the sale.

My friend may have a very good point here. If Harris can't get what she wants out of a willing Rogan, why should we have confidence in her ability to deal with others more hostile and cunning than Rogan?

I would assume she has no ability whatsoever to negotiate. She's never had to; she has either been on the receiving end of whatever men wanted to dish out (why, yes, I am talking about a certain mayor) or she has been handed a job and directed others to do what she wants without having to get her hands dirty. "Nuance" is not a word that applies to her. "Negotiator" isn't even in the same orbit as her.

On a more positive note:

Ye gads and little fishes! Do you mean some sanity has prevailed? Will this apply to other states as well, or just Virginia?
