Note in the Frontier about how New England town meetings, real democracy in action, can foil eeeevil land developers. In the Frontier because it gives too much about where I live. No, it isn't Green Acres; I don't think there are any more active fahms heah. But we shuah ain't hicks.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 1: I look forward to reading it. However, I have to post this because it's just too delicious...I mean, oh, no, those poor workers......of course, if they don't understand what being $20 million in the hole is, perhaps they really don't deserve to be employed. The Democratic National Committee (DNC), the party that claims to champion workers’ rights, has left its own staff out in the cold. Permanent staffers were given a single day’s notice before being unceremoniously terminated—without severance. The DNC Staff Union took to X to air their grievances, stating, “One day’s notice, no severance—the DNC fights for workers, just not their own.” The irony is so thick you could cut it with a knife. This is the same party that campaigns on workers’ rights, union support, and economic justice. Yet when it comes to their own, the rules apparently do not apply. According to the union’s statement, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill post-election staff reduction. These were permanent staffers who had assurances that their roles were secure post-election. ... these staffers were out on the street with no severance in hand, despite the DNC enjoying a period of record-breaking fundraising.

Reply to vxbush in 3: Maybe these people might suddenly realize that going after Green Nude Eels result in a bad economy and lost jobs. Sigh. Why should I expect rationality from these folks?

I'm referring specifically to the story about the DNC staff getting stiffed. (Pun fully intended.)

So, is there anything going on in the world that we should be talking about? I'm so buried in work I'm doing a piss-poor job of posting news because I'm not keeping my ear to the ground.
