Being green is all about getting greenbacks Beyond Green Down with Al Gore once and for all! The case for a rational energy policy. While I don't agree with everything in the article (he claims to believe AGW, but if the greenies really believed in AGW they'd be pushing nuclear power, so he might have said that just to not be labeled a climateophobe) If progressive energy policies remain so unpopular with most voters, why do Democrats persist in promoting them? The answer is that they provide material benefits for both Democratic donors and progressive nonprofits. It’s an alliance of green and greed. ... If progressive energy policies remain so unpopular with most voters, why do Democrats persist in promoting them? The answer is that they provide material benefits for both Democratic donors and progressive nonprofits. It’s an alliance of green and greed. ... In the past several decades, many rich investors have learned that green can be gold. Investing in a new nuclear plant is risky, given regulatory obstacles, upfront costs, and well-organized left-wing opposition. And it is hard for investors who hope to get rich quick to break into the oil and gas business, dominated as it is by existing firms. In contrast, if you are wealthy enough it is easy to set yourself up as a green investor. All you have to do is use campaign finance contributions to bribe state legislators into adopting “renewable portfolio standards,” requiring that electric utilities purchase a certain amount of “renewable energy” at otherwise non-competitive prices from solar, wind, hydro, and biomass providers—which you happen to own.

Ecuador has been learning the hard way about the perils of relying on "renewables" these last several weeks. The people who shriek about "climate chaos!!!" are the same ones who want us to be entirely dependent on predictable weather patterns in order to have energy.

Following Ketanji Brown Jackson's example, Joe Biden is planning his own Broadway debut. His song is expected to be a real show-stopper: All the cash shipped to thugs is a feature, not a bug Armageddon to be a habit with me Millions tossed down the drain to fund the war in Ukraine Armageddon to be a habit with me You might have thought I was supposed work for the US when I became president, Instead I shipped money to support terrorists, and you won't know where it went I clipped off some as pay as I frittered it away And showed I didn't care if you'd see And left a smoldering heap of pardons in my wake Armageddon to be a habit with me----can't fake it--- Armageddon to be a habit with me!
