ISIS Attack Thwarted at Army Facility Near Detroit, Michigan

A former National Guard member from Melvindale, Michigan, near Dearborn, was busted for attempting a mass shooting at a base in nearby Warren, Mich.

Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, 19, was arrested and charged with providing training and materiel to undercover federal agents. Investigators claim the planned attack is related to ISIS.

The plan was to launch a mass shooting at the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM) facility just north of Detroit. This is not a military base but more of an Army facility.

Newsom is obviously tacking right--"Hot off the presses in today's Los Angeles Times, Newsom's revised 2025-26 budget proposal 'reneges on his signature policy to provide free healthcare coverage to all low-income undocumented immigrants.' "

Gee. I wonder why he would do this.

Judge Dugan Claims Immunity from Prosecution, Wants Her Case Dismissed

Her argument is that she is above the law because she was acting in her professional capacity. Uh huh. Yeah. Sure. Riiiiiiight.

Just be honest, dear--you want to have the power to do whatever you want with no consequences.

Why is this suprising? Does the term "sanctuary city" not automatically suggest the concept of "sanctuary county"?

This is interesting--a Democrat representative presents a bill to codify Trump's drug pricing EO while Republicans just did nothing. Now I'm not sure how an executive order can be re-interpreted as a bill; I'm thinking the executive power Trump has means he can't introduce the EO in the exact same state. But this is very interesting.

Like I said, the fix is in.

Talk about luck of the draw! Following indictment, the Dugan prosecution was randomly assigned to Judge Lynn Adelman. Judge Adelman, age 85, is the most liberal judge in the Eastern District of Wisconsin and maybe one of the more liberal judges in the US.

Judicial immunity is a real thing, of course. The question would be whether she was really acting in her official capacity in that instance.

it’s a little unclear to me, but in this case, at least based on the article, it seems the suspect had come up with a plan, and then tried to recruit attackers, who turned out to be FBI agents; rather than undercover FBI agents coming up with the plan and then “recruiting” the suspect. In which case, I am fully on board with this as a righteous bust.

My, but that's pretty.  I say that as a firearm ignoramus, but I stand by my statement.

What made you think otherwise? I completely supported busting this guy.

Depends on your need matrix.

I handled one, though did not fire it, at a range earlier this week, and I really like the feel of it.  I haven’t acquired a new firearm since 2018, and I feel like I am overdue.

Now, at that same range, I did fire a full-auto MP5K; MP5 with suppressor; and HK 53.  That was FUN (particularly that last one).

Ah. Gotcha. No problem then. I was thinking more along the lines of, "Gee, I wonder what his religious background is?"
