And they have a book, "To Serve Man." New images show Manhattan-sized interstellar object that could be alien probe here to ‘destroy us’: Harvard scientist A Harvard physicist has asserted that new images of the Manhattan-sized interstellar object rocketing through our inner solar system back his claim that it’s not a comet — but instead possibly an alien probe that may “destroy us.” Dr. Avi Loeb is pointing to apparent smoking guns emanating from 31/ATLAS — the object discovered in early July motoring past Earth which NASA officials have deemed a simple, though aberrational, comet. “Usually, for comets, you see a tail trailing behind the object,” Loeb told CNN Thursday. “Here, the glow is actually in front of it. We’ve never seen such a thing. A comet doesn’t glow in front.” Only 3 interstellar objects observed, this one will be at 1.4AU at closet approach. This means we can't resolve any physical features. We can do spectroscopy and analyze the trajectory. As too the glow in "front" of it, first it's likely tumbling. As the sun heats it up it's likely outgassing on the side "warming" up by the sun which is generally the direction of travel or.... in front. So far every interstellar object has been "alien" and some yahoo cries wolf and the moron media runs with it.

Just had an exchange with my brother, a lovely person possessed of an economics Ph.D., who absolutely believes that the "Russia, Russia, Russia" allegations, the Mueller Report, etc., are the Absolute Truth. It is somewhat depressing.

NASA mourns the loss of legendary astronaut Jim Lovell, 97 (TNND) — The world bids farewell to a space exploration icon, as famed Apollo astronaut Jim Lovell has passed away at the age of 97. Lovell, who died on August 7 in Lake Forest, Illinois, leaves behind a legacy that has inspired millions. "NASA sends its condolences to the family of Capt. Jim Lovell, whose life and work inspired millions of people across the decades," said acting NASA Administrator Sean Duffy. "Jim’s character and steadfast courage helped our nation reach the Moon and turned a potential tragedy into a success from which we learned an enormous amount. We mourn his passing even as we celebrate his achievements."
