Good morning.  NPR is finally delicately acknowledging that the Minneapolis Mass Shooter (so to speak) was a tranny,but dances around the content of his hateful manifesto and social media messages.

And regarding the hatchet-and-knife-wielding Dundee lass:

”Following the incident, several social media posts began circulating, alleging that the girl and her friends had been followed and recorded by two men described as “migrants”. […]

However, Police Scotland confirmed to the Courier newspaper that their investigation had concluded and found no evidence to support the claims.

Officers reviewed CCTV footage and conducted inquiries but found nothing to substantiate the allegations made against the two individuals mentioned in the online posts. They said the reality was that a Bulgarian couple had been approached by youths in the housing estate.”

Now, you can of course say,  The officials are lying because of political correctness. But the video itself is pretty inconclusive about the “right wing” version of the story being true, as well.

I would caution against getting too far out over our skis about this thing until better information is available. But that’s just me.

It’s been fascinating watching people digging in on this story, at Instapundit.  People simply *want to believe*, and will fill in imaginary details to suit their narrative that are not supported by the only piece of evidence available, that short viral video of the girl shouting and waving those weapons around.   

A similar thing happened a few days ago when a video was circulating that was breathlessly captioned to indicate that NYPD simply stood by while a black man threatened a white man in a New York City subway station with a knife, and only stepped in after the white man defended himself with the skateboard. The actual video did not support that story -police appear to respond appropriately and professionally. But lots of  people at Instapundit became angry when just a few of us pointed that out.

El Gato Malo was also on this story and took the conservative line on it--but I didn't dig deep into it myself because there simply isn't time in my life these days. He seemed to prove his point based on a cursory reading, but he was depending  a lot on the number of towns where rape gangs were operating with seeming impunity by the local authorities as proof of the predatory nature of the men.

Yes, a lot of commenters are basically saying: “there are rape gangs in British cities, therefore, this girl was defending herself against rapists”. But you can see the logical problem with that. The video is absolutely inconclusive about anything like that. People are just filling in the “facts” that they want to fill in.

The $250 million ‘Feeding Our Future’ free food fraud in which Somali groups stole a quarter of a billion dollars while claiming to feed hundreds of thousands of children who never existed seemed like the biggest case of welfare fraud in Minnesota, but it may be just the beginning.

Somali autism fraud, partly linked to the ‘Feeding Our Future’ scam, may be even bigger and after the FBI raids of autism clinics last December, the scale of it is still being put together.

The left has a thing for fetishization of objects. The Gun in lieu of focus on the criminal. The House in lieu of mental illness or drug addiction. Abortion vs. responsibility. Process vs. solution in a broad sense. Right and Left speak entirely different languages.
