Honest question: I haven't had any time to follow through on what the leftists say are the ugly and terrible words Charlie Kirk ever said. I've read his description of why some deaths may occur as a result of the second amendment, but nothing else. My question is: are they simply taking passages out of context, or are there actual deep fakes at play here? Because this seems like the first time that a deep fake might realistically be deployed to keep the Democrat troops rallied.

Reply to vxbush in 1: Just before he was assassinated the question was about mass shootings. His last words were if we the questioner wanted to include gang violence. Previously he had compared guns to cars. Even if you include suicides cars accidents claim more lives than shootings. Shouldn't we also discuss limiting access to cars since access to firearms is a right and cars are a privilege. He also discussed the cost of disarming a population, the example of Britian and the rise in crime but more important the examples of where the people had been disarmed and the carnage that followed. The leftist claim all kinds of things he never said or take them completely out of context. To justify their labeling him and therefore he "deserved" his fate.

Which is why I want to make sure I am armed with the actual facts and if possible real video of what he said. I would not put it past people to use current AI video tools to create something horrible about him so it goes viral.

Reply to vxbush in 8: I have no doubt they will. I've watched a bunch of Charlie's interaction videos. Often reposters use the words "destroy" etc... It depends on POV of course, Charlie as far as I can tell was unfailing polite and respectful. His positions were always based individual liberty and responsibility. He was firm on anti-abortion and transition minors.

They might have, back then. The windows on the NYC subways have been reconfigured a number of times in the decades since I first moved here. The number of abominable alterations the New York transit system has imposed on the subways during that time is a whole other post, which I do not alas have time for now.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 14: The windows did open back then; no air conditioning. PCC cars (link) At least the windows opened up until the 1952 cars. And it was those on the Green Line that went through Scollay Square Subway cars had opening windows, I think; I was quite young when they replaced the trains.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 15: I note some PCC cars are still in use in Boston, on the Ashmont-Mattapan line. The track and curves can't handle the heavier cars of today. I believe Kohanim can't ride that line - it passes through a cemetary.
