I expect nothing to come of the FBI taking Eric Swallwell's phone other electronic toys (I'm assuming a laptop and a Kindle to boot--although maybe I should be thinking more luridly given the claims). The FBI took Hillary's server, Hunter Biden's laptop, the Awan brothers' computers from their time serving the IT needs of Congress, and nothing has happened. The same will happen here.

You know China is pushing the hate against data centers in the US, but pay attention to what they are doing in their own country:

Buried in this article about church fires are some actual statistics, although I wish the details are more specific:

I'm not sure what laws apply in the UK, but this guys should sue: He Blew the Whistle on Jason Arday and Was Just Suspended for Doing So The latest twist in this very sorry story is that Nathan Cofnas, the academic who first exposed (in public — many people inside academia were already well aware) Jason Arday's fabulist history and his history of academic fraud, has been suspended from his position at Ghent University. You would think academic integrity might matter in a hugely influential school, but you would be wrong. His public proof of Arday's incompetence tarnished the name of his school, and therefore he is out.

Reply to vxbush in 2: The energy and water issues many bring up regarding data centers is over blown. It is an issue, yes, but not as critical as opponents make it out to be. Local issues, like noise are more relevant locally. The luddite response to data centers is dumb. China is going all in on them. So far, the "smart" voice about data centers and AI are all being drown out by near hysteria.

OR, a few days ago, you said the Lindsey Clancy case sounded demonic. I have pointed out my wife is following it closely. Today she was watching it on a tablet in the kitchen as a doctor (psychologist, I think - it was not about medication) was testifying and said that the day she klilled the children, she had more than "command voices" but felt her body was taken over. Before medicine, we would call that demonic possession. Today, medicine completely ignores the spiritual side of things, "science", you know can't measure it so it doesn't exist.
