Good morning.
Pet peeve, right off the bat: People on Microsoft Teams (or similar) video/conference calls who say to a participant, "I can't hear you very well, could you please raise the volume?" That's not how this works.

Thinking back to my previous life as a law firm associate in the early to mid 90s; it's just amazing how much dead-tree we had to physically shift around. Tons and tons of the stuff.

Reply to lucius septimius in 1: As I commented over at WZ farmers are technically sophisticated. Satellites to monitor crops, GPS for planting and crop care. All kinds of tech for monitoring soil, water and plant conditions. Farmers were among the first adopters of RFID tech for monitoring herds. She's of the political class. Someone who has never done anything except tell others what to do.

Tons and tons of the stuff. When my wife started (around 2000), we'd get boxes of documents. Then it moved to CDs and DVDs. Still some of those, but more gets downloaded via sharefile or dropbox. Over 10 GB for one case a couple of weeks ago, mostly security camera video. The biggest was a case with many codefendants, and they put all the discovery for all the cases together. Had to supply an external hard drive - 2 TB. I think a lot of it was cell phone dumps from all the codefendants.

I am still astonished and saddened when I see parents walking around outdoors, with their small kids wearing masks; even playing in parks, yards from anyone else, in open air - wearing masks. Little kids growing up being taught to fear the very air that they breath - literally. What is this doing to them?

Got to stay safe from fish-borne aerosolized pathogens.

I was doing some research over the weekend and noted that the World Health Organization still has, as their standard pandemic plan, the bullet point that masks do not prevent the spread of viruses. And yet, what has the world done? Yeah, the WHO hasn't covered itself in glory, but what is the point in having documentation if no one uses it?

Reply to vxbush in 19: I've seen 3 studies that mask make things WORSE. The virus we know passes through the mask. The basic theory in the studies a normal breathing, a cough and a sneeze the large particles drop quickly due to gravity. The masks break the particles into very small aerosolized particles containing viruses which stay airborne much, much longer and subject airflow and spread much farther.

The masks break the particles into very small aerosolized particles containing viruses which stay airborne much, much longer and subject airflow and spread much farther. That makes sense. PJ Media reported on the group of parents who had the masks of their kids analyzed, and discovered serious pathogens on the masks, such as Legionnaires' diseases. Masks are not the perfect solution in any sense.

Reply to vxbush in 21: Everything I've seen is masks effectiveness is for close confined quarters, and short periods. Meaning a patient with a respiratory infection, and the caregivers wearing a mask while treating and disposing of after each patient contact. There is no other solid data to support other use cases.

Can't find a source other than this article. Critics slam Biden administration's reported plan to monitor vaccine misinformation in text messages "Biden allied groups, including the Democratic National Committee, are also planning to engage fact-checkers more aggressively and work with SMS carriers to dispel misinformation about vaccines that is sent over social media and text messages," Politico reports.
So gov't will contract with carriers to monitor you online activity... Also to consider. Why does the gov't need to go to these measures? If they had the evidence wouldn't they present that?

Reply to JCM in 25: The original Politico article (link) Biden allied groups, including the Democratic National Committee, are also planning to engage fact-checkers more aggressively and work with SMS carriers to dispel misinformation about vaccines that is sent over social media and text messages. The goal is to ensure that people who may have difficulty getting a vaccination because of issues like transportation see those barriers lessened or removed entirely.
