Of course. NIH may have been double-billed by Wuhan biolab

Because if you aren't going to watch the research going on, why watch the money?

Fox News Analyst Rips Biden Admin for Its Magical Thinking on Latest SVB Development

Lots of magic in Washington these days, it seems.

Your invoice is correct.

Item 1) Genetically engineering COVID.

Item 2) Releasing the COVID to assist in the globalist agenda.

The phones between Silicon Valley and the bought D.C. politicians have been melting down.

I saw a bit of Biden's speech at the AUKUS announcement.  He repeatedly "clarified" that the submarines in question will have nuclear propulsion, but not nuclear weapons.  I guess he knows his audience, the Progs who freak out whenever they hear the word "nuclear" and immediately think of mushroom clouds.

If I was the Aussies I would be building up a nuclear weapons stockpile. There wouldn't be much a barrier for them.

Brandon isn't a reliable ally should the ChiComs get frisky.

Except that the centrifuges down under spin the other way, adding technical difficulties...

Russia fighter collides with a US drone.... US response?

Several times before the collision the Su-27 fighter jets dumped fuel on the drone in a "reckless, environmentally unsound and unprofessional manner".

One more note about Silicon Valley Bank

Driven by the boom in venture capital funding, many of Silicon Valley’s customers became flush with cash over 2020 and 2021. Between the end of 2019 and the first quarter of 2022, the bank’s deposit balances more than tripled to $198 billion (including a small acquisition of Boston Private Financial Holdings). This compares with industry deposit growth of “only” 37% over the period. Around two-thirds of the deposits were non-interest-bearing demand deposits and the rest offered a small rate of interest. All-in, at the end of 2022, the cost of Silicon Valley’s deposits was 1.17% (up from 0.04% at the end of 2021).

So during the pandemic, the bank's holdings tripled. Stunning. I have to wonder how much of that was government handout money. Continuing in the article:

The trouble is that when rates started to go up, mortgage assets got hit hard. The duration of Silicon Valley’s HTM portfolio extended to 6.2 years, as at the end of 2022, and unrealised losses snowballed, from nothing in June 2021, to $16 billion by September 2022. That’s a 17% mark-to-market hit. The smaller AFS book was also impacted, but not as badly. Mark-to-market losses there amounted to 9% by the end of September.

So big was this drawdown that on a marked-to-market basis, Silicon Valley Bank was technically insolvent at the end of September. Its $15.9 billion of HTM mark-to-market losses completely subsumed the $11.8 billion of tangible common equity that supported the bank’s balance sheet.

There also rumors that in the Russian pilot radio chatter, they presumed the drone operator's gender; and perhaps even mispronouned xer.

Nope. A president needs to have a little bit of "cowboy" in them to use the media phrase.

The rest of the world needs to believe a US President will open a can of whoopass on them.

Biden doesn't have any whoopass on hand, only can after can of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Back when Trump was running the first time, people would ask me what I thought of him.

I'd answer that if he wins, every city should have a Trump building because our adversaries would be afraid to attack it.

And I think Putin waited until Trump was out of office, and that if there is any Russian collusion, it is between Biden and Putin.

Had a lot of heavy branches fall down in the wet snow. Looks like they missed the house.

Have someone coming tomorrow with a chainsaw.

Good thing I can work from home sometimes.

Today, power was out for a couple of hours, but the work computer is a laptop and our internet access is a mobile wifi hotspot that contains a battery.
